2D to 6 AA series battery adaptor £42.95 A custom made battery adaptor, built to military specifications by OscarDelta SPD, designed to fit the 2D cell Maglite. Since the AA batteries are connected in series, the voltage is increased by a factor of 3 from 2.4 volts to 7.2 volts using standard Ni-MH rechargeables. The obvious advantage of the adaptor is the converted 2D cell Maglite can then drive a much higher voltage bulb or the TerraLUX TLE-300M-EX (the main reason we are stocking this item). |

The adaptor is constructed so that a charger can be connected using the 5mm jack plug (supplied) so that the rechargeable batteries can be permanently held within the adaptor during their working lifetime (normally about 500 charges). Ideally recommended for 2000 to 2700 mAh Ni-MH batteries (anything more than this can be a tight fit). This item is custom made so is supplied as shown in the picture i.e no surplus packaging. Please note we do not supply the charger or the batteries with the adaptor. The charger recommended for use with the adaptor is the Ansmann Racing Powerjack 6 delta Pro which is designed for 7.2V battery packs and is readily available at approximately £11. The connector plug of the charger does need to be changed to the one provided with the adaptor. Caution - please take care when inserting the batteries in the adaptor to make sure the polarity is correct with both the top and bottom of the adaptor to avoid permanent damage to the batteries and possible fire risk! The standard 2D cell Maglite bulb will be blown immediately if not removed before this unit is connected due to the increased voltage. |
